Our first stay in Aruba was at the Ren Marina on Marriott points in July of 2006. We bought a week at Surf Club that trip.

Our first stay in Aruba was the Ren during Christmas week 2007 and it is where we fell in love with Aruba. We purchased a week there a few years later and sold it after purchasing the condo. We do stay at the adult side for Carnival. I like the locations because there are so many great restaurants that are in walking distance including the ones at the Marketplace. I don't care for the new room decor in the suites.

We never stayed there because for us it’s all about being on the beach. But it is a nice property - we’ve been to restaurants in that hotel.

Hey Hatteras, yep its been too long. Fun when we got together with you guys and Stu and Robin. The last 2 Covid years were quiet. No reservations needed for dinner. We would just pop into places like TOF with no reservations. I bet this February will be crazy. ABC did the rooms over, so that will be nice. So looking forward to getting Global Entry done this trip thanks to the Pros in this forum. We are so looking forward to our Aruba trip. N.J has been cold, dark and cloudy. Dreaming of that turquoise water and white, hot beach. We see the beaches at ABC and Cada Del Mar are huge. Its funny that we are all forum friends here that have been helping each other for over a decade.

Our first stay at the Renaissance Ocean Suites which was the Sonesta..I think it was in 1997 or 98.
We ended up buying a unit but became unhappy with the week that we had and the lack of "owner association" ....althought here was an owner association, mgmnt did not listen to the owners.
We sold our unit in around 2006 or 7.
We rented from owners a few times and did interval trades and were always pretty happy there.
Very good advice from Hatteras about staying away from Soul beach Festival over the Memorial Day weekend.
The place gets very loud and very crowded.
Fun for some, for others not so much!

We actually have an official timeshare owners group, with elected officials, LLC, and our own in-house counsel. We have become a major force, and have had a huge impact.
