Question about Safes in Condos, Apartments, Houses, and Timeshares

    Hello All,

Is it safe to assume ALL places have a safe available for guests to lock their belongings? In 17 trips we have only stayed at a hotel but may be open to a different type of trip (less expensive as well) next year.

Here is an older thread which shows photos of safes in different hotels/apartments. Might give you a bit of an idea:

    Room Safe Sizes

If you have a certain hotel/apartment in mind, I would ask them directly about their safe, the size, if it's in-build and secure etc. Hope, that helps.

I am thinking of places like Palma Real, Gold Coast etc... If anyone has any experience. Just trying to figure out how to stay on the island longer in the future without going broke.

if you are to be staying at a place without a room safe or with a room safe that is too small to meet your needs.....use a pac safe product.

it seems to me that most places should provide a room safe.

It's been hit and miss at the villas we've stayed at over the years. My friend, who works in security, says home safes are only any good if they're sunk into concrete as bolts can be easily overcome. But he also said that having security, monitoring and a safe works hand in hand as it'll delay the burglars... They don't want to spend a lot of time in the residence.

my son travels monthly for his job and is gone for at least a week every month.
sometimes he is fortunate enough to stay in a hotel with a room safe.
other times he is at a navy base in either substandard base hotel or visiting officers quarters.
often they do not have room safes

he uses this and attaches it to the bed frame.
