leaves from port Canaveral (about 100 miles from our home)
2 days in Nassau (1 of those days was supposed to be Freeport)
    2 days at sea

the Bahamas are not a place that I particularly enjoy....however we have friends with timeshare there @ Atlantis and they invited us to join them for the day at the beach and waterpark.

    Cruise recap:
the good news.........came home 6 lbs lighter and Freeport is open and there were a few excursions

the bad news..........the ship's stabilizers were not working and day 1 and day 3, both sea days were incredibly rocky side to side AND front to back.
according to our cabin stewardess, there were over half of her 22 cabins ill and incapacitated for day 1 and 3. speaking with folks around the ship, it seems that it was about half that were sick during those sea days. dear husband was fine on day one but was a hot mess on day 3. even more than being nauseated, it was the dizziness and being very unsteady that was more unsettling.

other good news.......... we had a nice time onboard when we were docked and the majority of the cruisers were out on shore excursions. we did take a 1 hour taxi tour in Freeport, just because we wanted to get off the ship and we wanted to support the reopening of tourism on Freeport. we were the second of 2 cruise ship allowed in since Dorian and the welcome reception was nice. our taxi driver showed us some of the damage and then took us to a spot for a cup of coffee and a muffin, then right back to the ship. this driver's house was damaged, but not ruined. his mother and mother in law's houses were demolished and they are now living with he and his wife. he rolled his eyes when telling us.

other good news is that we had a free drink package, free wifi and $500 onboard credit and we used that in the casino.

so all in all, we had 2 good days and 2 days when I was wishing I were dead.

now home to find a Fedex pkg at our front door holding our Belle's cremains.

time now to catch up on the last 5 days.

I am sorry to hear that you and Paul were sea sick. That is an awful feeling. They should have offered dramamine to everyone. It seems like the rest of the cruise was nice. Did you win anything at the casino?

Welcome home. Sorry you had a couple of bad days.

So so sad about Belle. Have you decided what to do with her ashes? This promoted a conversation here at home about what we would do when that time comes for our girl.

    thanks!
once you are seasick dramamine won't work, neither will the patch

we won a little, very little.
however we played long and hard on the $500 onboard credit, enough to earn a free cruise for sometime in 2020.

we have a large pewter container with a lid.....it is a really pretty heavy piece.
currently it is storing 2 of our cats...Peppy and Callie, our dog Conway, and now Belle.
dear son Kevin has instructions for the container of the cremains for when Paul and I are gone.

it is always good to have the conversation I guess.

The conversation is hard but I realized that we weren’t even sure who to call. I’ve been doing some research about options. Tom and I have had conversations about ourselves so....we’ll at least know what to do.

I'd say a free cruise is a win.
