Canada - US border to remain closed until December 21, 2020

    Good evening everyone,

The number of COVID-19 cases in both countries is trending in the wrong direction so the border (land crossings) will remain closed until at least December 21, 2020.

On the good news front, two points to be made here. First, two vaccines are being evaluated by Health Canada and if approved, the first doses could be rolled out in early to mid-January. Donna and I may be able to get a needle by Easter.

Second, and a vital piece of the vaccine supply chain, a Canadian appliance company in Danby, Ontario is working flat out on a 'super-freezer' which will be able to store vaccines at the required -75F TO -80F.

Everyone around the world is trying to do their part.

    Enjoy your evening everybody,

    Glenn

I doubt they will open the borders until late spring or early summer.

    Hey Walt,

The company is Danby Appliances and is located in Guelph, Ontario.

Now, go wash your hands. Yes, again.

    Hi Robin,

I think you are right; I really don't know why they keep doing this 'one month at a time' thing.

Right now, as I said earlier, the case counts on both sides of the border are heading in the wrong direction.

Guelph is not far from my husband's sister. She has talked about the city numerous times, but we have never been there.
