Corona Virus effects in your hometown.

I am a bit concerned about our trip next month. Cases in NJ are surging. Our county was in the single digits to mid teens. Today was over 50. The numbers in the area have been creeping up the past two weeks and I am concerned about the turnaround time. There is a place that does the rapid test less than an hour
from us. Might have to consider going there rather than here in town.

my friend had a very bad case of the flu in December 2019.
she tested negative though for flu.
she had some routine labs done a few weeks ago and as it turns out her Dec flu was Covid.
she has the antibodies for Covid.

Had routine labs done yesterday am with results in 32 hrs everything great (cholesterol not so good... genetic)
Antibody test for covid, and covid test( via bloodwork) all negative.
Meaning I had a real bad case of Influenza A back in January... (don't want that again)

CT issues it's weekly Covid-19 travel advisory list on Tuesday. As of today, I can only travel without restriction to Vermont, NY and NJ (well, Alaska & Hawaii if I want to fly or swim!). Not looking good at all for Thanksgiving in Maryland.

Sadly its almost a math equations at this point. In 2 weeks the latest US cases were up 60 percent....guess what? In the next 2 weeks I predict them to be up well OVER 60 percent! Why? Because our youth are dumb, sorry but I call it as I see it. I had a uniform collection and informal awards ceremony at the same time for the soccer program I run at the HS level.....after the awards I was in the parking lot and at least 10 of my players are gathered together without any masks.....WTH- they among ignorant adults are setting us up for a winter of darkness we have never seen before. Please do your part!

I talked to one of my clients today. His girlfriend tested positive. He tried to get an appointment to test nearby and was told held have to wait 5 days to get in. Our county is ramping up very quickly. We are now a yellow zone, with increased restrictions. But hey, it was sunny and 78 today

I keep hearing possible mandatory mask; Florida governor does not think it is necessary.
Florida rates are going up again. Some schools are closing for weeks due to positive cases.
I am concern when kids return from being off for a week for Thanksgiving our numbers will be even higher.

With so many restaurants closing, I had hoped that our local spot would hold on especially since the news of the vaccine. Unfortunately, I just found out that Grumpys is closing next week. Prior to the pandemic we went there at least twice a week. We enjoyed the food, and had made friends with many of the other regulars. Last month we did have the opportunity to stop in as the number of cases here were really low. That has since changed and sadly I don’t see us getting there before their closing. I feel for the people who work there as some have been struggling financially with limited shifts and now no jobs. Selfishly, I wonder where we’ll go once we are able.
