My daughter received her first dose on Mom. She works in a medical clinic. My sister is supposed to get her first dose today. She lives in an assisted senior facility. Have no clue when we'll get ours.
There was a huge line in the Sarasota area on Sunday....all age 65+ hoping to get in without appointment (first come first served) for a vaccination.
75% of those seniors waiting on line, even overnight to be disappointed when the clinic opened on Monday.
2 of those seniors (who were also disappointed and unable to be vaccinated) were Dr Sanja Gupta's elderly parents.
They too waited on that line overnight.
Florida needs to make a plan and they need help from the feds.
I am not sure that I would wait on line for a free pass to heaven.
The cases here in Quincy continue to trend upward. There were 94 new cases yesterday and 81 today. Percentage rate is over 8%. Obviously the after effect of the holidays. It does get discouraging but I keep trying to tell myself that vaccination is not that far off. If Massachusetts were handling distribution the way Florida has been I don’t believe we would be willing to wait in line.
