Thanks! Today is the day that everything kind of got to me. For ourselves, I feel fortunate. We are healthy. I have been able to get groceries delivered and we do not have any financial issues. Just like everyone else I’m tired of the stay at home but it really does need to be done. We see so many putting their elderly parents at risk. With all the COVID-19 info that is constantly broadcast I can’t understand people who see no problem with putting others at risk.
There's a lot of stupid in this country, and a lot of selfish idiots. Rant away! You'll get no disagreement from me!
Selfish is the keyword.
We are unhappy being stuck at home, but thank God we are well and are occupied.
The selfish need to shut up and go with the flow.

I just don't really understand the stay at home and non essential business orders. Why is Party City, the party supply store open? Yes they are doing curbside only, bu there was a line of about 10 cars waiting for pick ups. The workers had to be up close and personal with each car. We were just driving by. Jon needed gas and I decided to ride just to get out if the house so we saw when we drive by and I just dont get it. Right now it's like we are half-assing this stay at home stuff so how is it going to work?
Other things of note, our HOA is having a virtual meeting about our pool contract. I'm hoping they dont decide to keep it closed all summer, but health and safety are more important, so we shall see.
I went to do our weekly shopping at my favorite store, and there was a line of probably 30-40 people waiting outside to get in. I decided not to go there. They are limiting numbers inside the store. I agree with the approach, but I decided to go to another store to avoid the wait. The other store was not very crowded but was also not well stocked.
Tomorrow starts week 6 of work from home and its starting to wear me down.
On the mask thought... I was going to get my wife some more wine today and I was putting on my mask and I was walking in to the liquor store....and thought you know at any other point in time a guy with his hat pulled low, wearing a mask gets the police called when you walk in the door and now its proper attire.
The supermarket I prefer to shop at I have not been able to go to for weeks...they have lines that look like they are 50 plus deep every time I try. So I go to the other one that is actually closer but play almost 30 percent more per item....sometimes even more. That said the store is almost always pretty close to empty and if the dumb people could pay attention I would not be near a sole....the cashiers are behind a plastic barrier.
As far as grocery shopping I do not go on the weekends. I try to go early around 9 so it is right after the seniors, but before the people with kids doing homeschooling. I have to usually go to different places to get what I need because of availability.
I also don't get why some stores or business are open and others are not. Party City is probably open because they carry paper goods or because they have items for children.
You need to stay home now so we can all go to Aruba later. You need to stay home now so you don't unintentionally infect others because you could have Covid-19 and not have any symptoms. You need to stay home now to protect those who can't as well as yourself. Yes, there are parts of the country that appear to be reaching the plateau but it's too soon to get overly confident and start opening things up again. The next few weeks are the most critical. It looks like we might be starting to tame the beast, but the beast is still everywhere. It's just having more trouble getting to us because of the stay-at-home orders and social distancing.
No one likes it; everyone is getting bored; everyone is getting anxious; everyone wants to get back to work; everyone wants to get back to "normal", whatever that is going to be. But you know what I want more than anything else? To live through it. And I want all of my friends and family, and all of you, your friends and family, to live through it and for all of us to be around when we get to the other side of this thing so we can start writing trip reports again. And protesting in a crowd without gloves and masks doesn't help. It's stupid and selfish and disrespectful to those who are trying to protect us and save our lives. So if being bored, not getting to hang out with my friends in person, not being able to go see my family, not seeing my co-workers every day because they have to work from home so my boss and I can be in the office and keep the business going, not being able to travel, is the price I have to pay for a few more weeks so I can do all those things hopefully by summer, I'm okay with that. Because I want to be okay when this is over.
