I dropped my mail-in ballot off at town hall a couple of weeks ago. Everyone, get out there and vote please!!
we brought our mail in ballots to one of our city's community centers.
early voters and mail in drop off.
it was crowded.
when we handed in our envelope, they checked to make sure it was signed and date and time stamped the front and the back, then put it in the box.
the poll worker told us that the City Police and and Sheriff Dept each take turns delivering full ballot boxes to the county courthouse where they are counted and ket under lock and key.
As of noon today, one of my swimmers told me that there have been 20,000 absentee/mail in ballots returned and counted.
We mailed ours Monday morning...... highly unlikely that anything could change my vote before election day....!
The other day I went in to the local mall for the first time since January to purchase a specific item. I was surprised to see how many stores have closed up. It is really sad.
We also learned today that due to Pennsylvania's restrictions the Army-Navy game will be moved to West Point. The game is scheduled for the day we are supposed to fly to Aruba and the hotels around the airport are always full and the rates high. I am guessing that by next week we will be able to get a much better deal on a hotel room before we fly out Saturday morning.
Today is the first day since before we left for Aruba in January that I have the house to myself all day. David is working and Stu has doctor's appointments and tests in Philly, but he is hoping to get one appointment moved up so he is not there all day. It is quiet except for the birds outside. I am going to enjoy the quiet just for today and make use of the uninterrupted time.
Oh, I can appreciate the feeling of having the house to myself. It hasn’t happened for me yet but I do get an hour or so in the afternoon when Tom takes a nap. Enjoy!!
He was able to move up his one appointment, so I got a very productive half day to myself.
I feel like Covid is closing in on me at this point. We got a call yesterday and our hometown had FIVE cases just yesterday in the school system, at least one in every school. Today my two coworkers had to join a meeting about a fellow student who is now positive with Covid. Contract tracing is an absolute joke! They are relying on the kid to say who he/she was near more than 15 min with 24 hours. They would not tell my peers who the kid was and only the class. They asked if they were close to any kids or if they was anyone not wearing a mask properly....the answer to the later question is half the freaking school....I tell people to put on their masks properly 1000 times a day!
