    Happy Independence Day to all!

    Cookout/BBQ plans?
A day at the beach or pool?

I have to teach my water exercise class this morning and then we are spending a few hours at the pool til we get thundered out.

Fireworks were held in our city last night, but it was just too hot to even think about going.

If you are enjoying the 4th in Aruba.........LUCKY YOU...ENJOY!

Happy 4th!! Enjoy the fireworks but please leave them to the professionals!!!

We’ll be spending it out back on the deck. Hopefully, with a nice sea breeze. Instead of the usual burgers and hot dogs the menu will be: shrimp cocktail; stuffed clams; deviled eggs and cheese and salsa pinwheels. Desert will probably just be ice cream, or maybe some grilled pineapple. Would have been nice to be in Aruba and see the fireworks though!!

Paul is on his way to Publix to pick up a pineapple and Riesling.
Apparently we are hosting burgers and dogs at 5 pm for a group of 6.
How things change in 20 min. I went in to strip the bed, and clean the bathrooms.........I walked into the kitchen and Paul announced
    "we are hosting"

Happy 4th everyone! I have bacon on the smoker for my jalapeno bacon ranch cheeseball appetizer. We are doing buttermilk fried chicken, smoked bacon and egg potato salad, grilled zucchini and squash and grilled parmesan corn. Pam is making a red, white and blue dessert with fresh strawberries and blueberries. The family is coming over and we will spend time in the pool before eating. Of course the temps are already near 90 and the heat index is much higher, so we will stay home and not fight the tourists and heat and inevitable rains for the beach or fireworks. There is a family at the end of the street that does a respectable display over the lake and we will enjoy that from the backyard. Have a great holiday everyone!

Happy Independence Day! We are usually away for the holiday and Jon's bday (the 6th) but with the job changes it wasnt in the cards this year. We started our morning with Top Golf, then back to our neighborhood pool that we had completley to ourselves for a couple hours, it was really kind of nice. Once the people started coming we moved on for the day, including Sweet Frog frozen yogurt for an early birthday treat and to pick up drink supplies for the weekend. Tomorrow we head out for a quick weekend getaway to meet friends and celebrate. I will be watching the Macys fireworks on TV while the husband heads off to bed for his 3am wake up for work.
