I've heard many of my friends also say they voted for the lesser horrible of the two candidates; some of the same people that voted in the primary for these candidates. Our children are watching this process.
Name calling: liar, cheat, criminal, abuser, crooked, idiot, bully, racist, deplorable, sexist and SO much more. I blame the candidates for starting it, and American citizens for continuing it. Remember, our children are watching...
Just like our response to the actors/contestants who lie and cheat on the TV show Survivor, everyone gets offended when politicians lie and cheat. Why are we surprised when it happens (we can hope it won't)? None of us can begin to know the enormous pressures and responsibilities of keeping the US, and often times the world, safe. Again, our children are watching...
My daughter voted in her first presidential election. She drove over 1:20 to get home and 1:20 to get back to school(she didn't get an absentee ballot in time; in fact, she didn't even remember registering and was thrilled when she checked and found out she could vote). What a first presidential election in which to vote. Here is a little of what I said to her the next day:
"Glad you made it home to vote. Even though we have an inexperienced person taking over in January, I'm not believing the chicken littles yelling 'the sky is falling, the sky is falling'. No president will change the fact that we will all still have to go to work, will probably never be independently wealthy and will still have our own problems to get through during our lives. Like I've always said, if you have a roof over your head, food on the table, clothes on your back and family that loves you, you're doing ok."
The country has problems; the country always has and always will have problems, and that is a longgggggg list. Let's not make it longer for our children who are watching.
I believe most of us here have that roof, that food, those clothes and that family, be it big or small. We all have problems too.
And, most of us here have the luxury, ability and good fortune to travel and see some of the world.
Remember, our children are watching.
NOW, where is that margarita??????
state of Mass. just legalized pot. it is the #1 state for welfare... the freebies..
this is some of the stuff they get for free... housing.. food stamps, cash assistance, medical and yes they pay the drug addicts
so they can get their suboxone & methadone (drugs for addicts hooked to heroine.), fuel assistance and so much more..
the average person on welfare gets about $70,000.00 a year of freebies and we wonder why would they want to work??
They even get SSI for anxiety, depression or an addict.
I do hope Trump stops all of this nonsense.. make them work for all funds given to them in a non profit organization such as church,
red cross and etc.
So weed is now legal in Ma...... Sort of like colorado?
very interesting.
