    I don't know how mom will handle the move, but it's gotta happen. Latest update the hospice folks talked with the new place and it was determined they aren't really equipped to have mom either, so the search continues. Private homes are a thought, but now we're looking at another place even closer for skilled nursing care. It's the same place my FIL spent his last few months. The fun never ends...

    such a sad situation Walt.
    getting old is so hard.

    I am glad that hospice was able to provide the insight that was necessary for the new assisted living to understand your mom's needs and I hope that the skilled nursing facility has an opening soon and is a good match.

    Go ahead and vent Walt. Its frightening to get that call. Our uncle is mentally challenged and in a home in his 80's. We were luckily to find a caring nursing home after a similar experience.

    I know how you feel, Walt. We recently moved my sister, Pat, from assisted living to a dementia facility. The assisted living facility basically evicted her too. We knew it was coming so we had a plan, but we were hoping it wouldn't happen until after covid. As it turns out, I think she is happier there. She was confused at first, but much better now. I will keep your mom in my prayers. Best of luck on this front.

    The facility I worked at where Lou's FIL was in tried to evited him; but since they "labeled" him for his behavior" nobody would accept him Not even the VA and he was a purple heart WW 11;
    Let them look for a place for her too. (don't have to accept the place either)
    Don't think they can evicted her until you can find a place to meet her needs (this is what the Social Worker who worked there told me) he did end up staying there till he earned his wings..
    Take your time and find the proper place...
