The plan today was going out for breakfast and the beach, but that changed when I realized something I ate did not agree with me. We went to breakfast and then headed to the sister resort of the one we are staying at to hang at the pool since we knew we'd have bathroom access. We were the only ones there other than the workers and the people building the soon to open restaurant(I think both properties were designed as condos and then switched to resorts). It was quiet and relaxing. Dinner tonight is at a nicer place called Hemingways. We are trying to do a mix of casual and fine dining. I am feeling better now, so it's all good.

Yesterday, we had breakfast in and headed to the beach. We were the only ones there. We knew we could only stay to 2 pm because the parking lot is used for Thursday Night Fish Fry(I'll get back to that) and we were okay with that because we did want to do a bit of shopping, but at 1130 they came and said we had to move our car. We decided if we had to leave the parking lot, we might as well, just go to the pool. Again, we were the only ones there. Our lunch was bread, wine and cheese by the pool. We headed back to our room at 230ish, cleaned up and headed down to the area that had shopping. Compared to Aruba, there wasn't much there. We picked up some rum, rum cake and a couple shirts-mostly for gifts and had some frozen yogurt. We headed back to the area of the Thursday Night Fish Fry and got a good parking spot(it hadn't started yet) and we headed into the closest resort for a drink before dinner at the Fish Fry. The Fish Fry is not what it sounds like. There are local vendors with crafts, shirts, etc-the normal island stuff you can buy anywhere. There are also local restaurants set up under tents with fish, chicken, pork, lobster, etc. There are bars set up and ice cream trucks. There is a stage with a band playing. Locals and tourist alike were there. Most of the menus were similar. I had chicken tacos(grilled, spicy chicken) and sweet plantains(you get two sides, I got plantains for both). Hubby had the jerk chicken, plantains and grilled corn on the cob. It was nice, but finding seats was difficult. We would surely do it again.

Today we woke up to cloudy skies. We headed to the beach, but left earlier than we planned because it was spiting off and on and the breeze was very chilly. We are supposed to do a sunset cruise, but are waiting to hear if it is a go or not.

We head home tomorrow. I can't wait for my own bed-sharing a queen with hubby for a week is not easy with my bum shoulder.

Robin, I so appreciate your sharing your vacation. I have often though about Turks and Caicos, maybe someday!

It is very nice. This has been a quiet week on the island. However, I know you like the casinos, and I think there is only one on this island.

Our sunset cruise was very nice. The sun came out and it warmed up. It was two hours with rum punch and chips with salsa. The one we wanted to go(wine and cheese) on did not sail today due to not having enough people. Dinner was at a Thai restaurant which was very good.

Overall, we had a really nice trip. The beaches are beautiful. Resorts, except for Beaches, are much smaller than Aruba. The restaurants are great as far a food and service. Some have a service fee and some don't. There isn't a lot to do here other than snorkeling, diving, etc. I don't know if there is golf and I don't think there is a movie theater or bowling and there isn't much shopping. The people are friendly. It is more expensive than Aruba. They do drive on the wrong side of the road. We would like to come back again, but stay at a resort right on the beach.

Thanks for sharing, More expensive than Aruba puts it out of reach for us.
