We were supposed to do a super bowl Sunday cruise this year; but Carnival canceled us.
With that being said.. I called them today to inquiry about the benefits we were given
We must book a cruise by the end of this May and sail by April 2023; we still have a $600 per cabin credit
    and free cheers
Still not feeling cruising. Too many rules. You must show negative covid test and possible be tested prior to getting on the ship
You can not go off the ship unless you must have "ship excursions only" (we always do our own excursion or just get off and walk around that is not allowed either)
I don't know about anyone else's job, we get screened frequently and one of the questions I have ask my patients each time I visit (they laugh too..)
Have you been out of the country or on a cruise in the past 14 days? (if so we must and they must self quarantine for 14 days with or without vaccine or negative test
As for Aruba I am so glad we went in September, but do not see going back soon due to being out of the country
We do have $$ for JetBlue. wouldn't mind doing St Thomas or San Juan
Possible a road trip to Gatlinburg for Thanksgiving

Hopefully by 2022 or 2023 we will be back to normal. Can you choose a full refund if you don't rebook?

    Yes and no, If we booked a cruise and it was canceled by Carnival we will get a full refund;
If we cancel we lose our deposit and part of our deposits were on Carnival gift cards and will be returned on a Carnival gift card
    over $1200.00

the problem with some of the cruise cancellations is the loss of the good deal.

we lost 3 cruises with carnival.............they cancelled them them all. they were free cruises (casino offers) and each of them had good on board credits.
we will get those casino offers again, but the OBC, will not be as good as what we had that was cancelled.

our most recent cancellation was to have been an April cruise on Holland America. a free cruise with $800 onboard credit. = cancelled
AIDTM THINK.. is it Thoughtful? Helpful? Inspirational? Necessary? Kind?

In 2019 Stu qualified for a conference in 2020 in Chicago, which was postponed till this year, which they now have cancelled. They are giving him a gift card instead(no where close to value of the conference). There's more involved, but to sum it up-everyone who qualified for trips in 2020 and 2021 are being are not getting rewarded. Not that we attend all the conferences, but there are others who do. When we do go, we rarely attend the meetings, and just enjoy ourselves.

Also if it wasn't for covid, we'd probably be in Chile now, exploring and waiting for our trip that was supposed to leave on Thursday to Antarctica(Now Oct. 2022).

We still don't know what is happening for our summer trip to Europe that was rescheduled from last July to this July. I have a feeling we will be rescheduling it again for next summer 2022.

Back in early March we rescheduled our chernobyl tours for late October 2021. If we need to push back again, then we will do so, but holding on to that little sliver of hope in the mean time.
