Peg/Tom's Beloved Maddy

nails done, toes done, hair trimmed....
carry ons packed and at the door.

got 3 friends that are scheduled for neck surgery in the next 4 days.
all of them with C-3, 4, 5, or 6 herniations.
my worry radar will be in high gear.

also friends from Ma have to have their beloved dog put down tomorrow.
this dog is their baby and has been for about 10 years.
she is a beautiful retriever.
I am so sad and wish that there was something I could do to ease their pain.
they are doing the right thing to ease the dog's pain.

an early to bed night tonight.........hopefully by 10.

all checked in for flight
turkey sandwiches made for lunch on plane.

Thank you Andrea. It has been a tough week. Maddy has liver issues and has gone downhill quickly. She is 10. We struggled with the decision but felt we didn’t want her to suffer. The Vet will come to our home tomorrow am and I’m pretty nervous about it. I do think it will be less stressful for all though.

Oh Peg, I’m so sorry. You’ve made the right decision but that doesn’t make it any easier. We’ve had 3 golden retrievers over the years and we’ve lost them all at 9 years old. When our last one made it to almost 10 I thought she might be the lucky one. They are a member of the family. Know that you are doing the right thing for your Maddy.

I’m so sorry, Peg. There’s no easy way to do this. We’ve been through it twice, most recently just last November. You and Tom made a very difficult but right decision. Sometimes love hurts.
