A quick trip to New England

We took our annual trip to New England, got home tonight.
Our son changed jobs 2 yrs ago and has less vacation time than in his prior job.....Our daughter in law
has to go to set up her classroom and to attend meetings........... leaving our grandsons needing "monitoring"
    as day camp has ended.

They are not babies, now ages 6 and 8 so we are their "monitors"

We took a real quick trip to Watertown and Waltham MA to visit the cemeteries and a stop into the Armenian store to pick up some Lamejun.
We took the boys to the Acton Maine fair.
We went to the beach.....FRIGID water in Maine.
We rode in Kevin and Becca's boat and that was terrific.
We swam in their community pool (more frigid water)
We ate salt water taffy, fried whole belly clams.....but no lobster= way too much $$

Allegiant Airlines still is crummy, but flies into Portsmouth NH, 10 miles from Kevin and family's home.

And now we are home.............TIRED and maybe a little cranky

He is bored on the boat!

If you have never been to a Crumbl Cookie...it is quite the experience.

I bet the boys loved the fair! That was something I enjoyed as a kid, still do for that matter. Now I need to know what Lamejun is? Also never heard of Crumbl Cookie?!

It’s nice you are able to get a flight in so close to Kevin’s. Getting there from Logan would have been a pain, don’t you think?

Yes, going to Boston from York is a pain, but doable.
We have flown on Frontier into Portland, which is much easier than Logan.

Lamejun is an Armenian food...sort of like a pizza...it is on a pita bread (sort of) ground lamb and spices.
    It is to die for.
Our dear friend, forum member Kathy M is our usual supplier of Lamejun...but since we were in the neighborhood of the Eastern Lamejun Bakery, we made a stop.
    Google Crumbl Cookies
They are a franchise place that make very decadent and very large and expensive cookies.
We bought 4 cookies............about $16 and each cookie was enough for 2 people.
    They are a real treat!!
Each cookie weighs about 10 oz.
My favorites are the lemon poppy and the strawberry cheesecake.
    Check out their site.

I’ll definitely go googling the cookie place. As for The lamejun, I’m always looking for new flavors. May have to Google for a recipe!!

I love that you’re monitors and not babysitters LOL!
My 3 year old grandson recently informed us that we can no longer call him “cute.” He said his 2 year old sister is “cute” but he’s big now and cute is for babies!
    They grow up so fast.

Sounds like a great trip! Some day we will have to 'meet up' in NH or Maine!

We had a Turkish restaurant here for a short time and they what sounds like a similar dish, Lahmacun. Hubby loves it.

Those cookies sound wonderful, Andrea. Your trip looks like it was lot of fun.

I'm in San Diego and just realized there is a Crumbl Cookie right up the road. Of course they are closed on Sunday but will try to get there one day next week.

I found an interesting short cut recipe using flour tortillas for the base. It looks really good and easy.
