I just saw the video on this morning’s news. It’s such a terrible situation but fortunately they were not hurt. The rebuilding journey is going to be long!

    Another storm story:

Stu's cousin lost three cars due to flooding. Right before Ida, they were paving the streets in her area and everyone who had vehicles parked in the street were told to move them to a city lot. They moved three vehicles to the lot-a car, a pickup that has been in the family for years(passed down) and a camper that has been in the family for years(passed down). All of them along with many of the neighbor's vehicles were under 7 feet of water after the Rahway River flooded. They only had liability on the vehicles since they were very old. In addition, their son is selling a business property-a small building which now has a basement filled with water plus 18 inches of water on the first floor. They do not have the resources to replace any of the vehicles and have no idea if the buyer will now back out of the sale of the building and they really need the $$ from the sale of the small building. They just can't catch a break.

The former pregnant coworker who lost her home in the tornado had a baby boy last night according to her mom who I saw at a funeral today. I asked the Grandmother what they named the baby. She told me she suggested the name Storm, but her daughter didn't like that name. She said she name the baby, Rhett. I asked, "Like Rhett from Gone With the Wind?" Yes, she replied and then her eyes widened and she said, "Oh, I just got it standing here. Rhett Butler. Gone With the Wind like the house." My cue to leave.

Oops.... foot in mouth, I've been there many times.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the best of men!

I was just making sure I heard the name right by asking if it was like in Gone With the Wind. I didn't even think Gone With the Wind and associate it with the house. That was her. I guess hearing me ask, made it click for her.

Yesterday morning was by far the worst drive of my life coming into work and I have driven in all types of weather. A normal 7580mph ride was down to20-30mph with having to pull over several times. It was like firehouses pointing and blasting my car could barely see, I should have turned around and gone home for safety reasons but I did not. My hands hurt for hours after my drive because I was holding the steering wheel so tight. I wish that ride on nobody.
