More deaths by gunfire in the US than any other country. How can we not sit up and take notice. We’re sad, we pray, we hurt but those that can make a difference need to take action!

    This article is really scary:

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/mass-sh...far-this-year/

Myself, I'm thinking about conceal carry classes... Remember in the old Western movies when the bad guy would come through the saloon doors and pull his handgun from his holster? Everybody in the saloon stood up and pulled theirs. That's called a deterrent.

It is so sad that we have to be afraid to do what we want to do. It is sad that innocent people are dying because of hatred. My son asked us if he could go see Cory Booker talk in Philly this week. I told him I was against it because of what has transpired this past week has been hate filled and I was worried about his safety. He said he "knows what to do because he has been trained as to what to do in that situation". I told him that by the time you'd realize what was happening you could be dead.

In my job we get active shooter training every 3 months, sometimes more often depending on the state of the world around us. You think you know what to do, but the training is just that, training. You never know what might happen... Pam and I have discussed safety procedures for places we go like Wal-Mart, the ABC store, the local pizza joint... you just never know anymore.

I know. When I was growing up we just had to get under our school desk and worry about a nuclear bomb attack.
