Walt, are you feeling the effects yet or is it too soon? I heard Ian was back up to Cat 1 now that he's over water.

Lisa it's really windy and cloudy right now, rain is supposed to be here soon. I work in a building that's right on the beach and the surf was already pounding when I left this afternoon. We're being cautious and having margaritas while we wait for something, or nothing, to happen. We have an annual event called the Neptune Festival. Everything has been cancelled except the International Sandcastle Competition. You can see the surf conditions and the structure where the competition is in this cam view. We live about a mile from the coast and 6 miles south of this cam location. This is the Watermans cam, the place that invented the Orange Crush cocktail.

Tobey...........somewhat brain dead, he was fine.......a little annoyed that "his chair" was occupied by Charlie.
Lily........... she held off on doing her business outside from about noon yesterday til 4:30 this morning. She peed like a racehorse.

Friends in our neighborhood....their Bichon was terrified and threw up most of the night.

Another friend who has a large German shepherd.................she gave him Benadryl every few hours and he slept well all night and apparently never noticed the storm

This summer I was offered a job in Venice, FL. We seriously considered it and probably would have been in the process of buying a house and moving around this time had I accepted. For many reasons it just wasn't the right time to make a big move. Now I'm thanking God for unanswered prayers! I cannot imagine how that would have went. It's just crazy to even think about it. They took a devastating hit yesterday.

Walt - we were sad to see the Neptune Festival cancelled. I haven't been in years but it is so good for your local economy. We moved our boat out of the water last weekend in preparation for the possibility of the storm coming this weekend. We are not directly on the coast.

Good luck Walt and Tracey! Hopefully it will be just a heavy rain event.

    hope it is easy Walt!!!
    thanks for the link.
they think the wind shear is going to inhibit the storm.
it is expected that the storm will move inland and create some rain but the weather person just said it would not be too bad.
