I have a friend with an Eagles gnome. He keeps it inside and takes pictures of it before the games like it is a person watching the game-siting with a bowl of chips or a beer, etc.

YEAAAAA I am so stressed this morning its not funny! My son is getting "new" learning lessons now and not busy work and guess who is trying to teach him 4th grade math? Its beyond frustrating when I have worksheets to work on with him yet zero idea of what the $#%^ they want on certain questions. Thankfully I have a wonderful coworker that teaches math so I take pictures of the questions I don't get and ask her to teach me so I can teach him....what a use of time!

These poor kids...my son and everyone else's is losing out on 4 months of education....that will set some of these kids back a year.

Its a disaster for all students but our vulnerable students are even more at risk. What your wife does daily is hard but so necessary as these kids deserve a fighting chance to succeed.

I know all my teacher friends are struggling. Kids are struggling. Parents are struggling. Yes, the kids will start school in September very far behind. You usually have a regression of skills over the summer, but it is now like summer started in March. I cannot imagine how much the kids with special needs will regress. Education is a hands on. In person, teacher to student contact is vital. Online learning is fine for colleges, as long as labs are not needed, but not for kids.

You are so correct. Online learning belongs in college, not grade school. I almost wish they would just pause life and restart it all because this online stuff is not helping anyone and its making us all much more stressed. I am not sure how to reach my 270 students while also taking care of the most important one...my son.

This is something they will write about in history books in the years to come and our children will tell their children and the legend of the "Corona" will live on forever...lets hope we kill this thing soon and its just an incredibly bad flu year and not something we talk about forever.

....and what my wife misses most is the interaction with 'her' kids.... I hear such pride in the stories she's always shared.... and we cannot go anyplace without a little person shouting out her name and running over for a hug....!

Yesterday I finally found my 2 hard to find items, Rubbing alcohol at CVS and Rocky's ace Hardware had lots of Clorox bleach, it was a home run!

That's what I am hearing from my friends. To be honest, what I missed most and still miss since I retired. The kids miss each other and miss their teachers. For some kids, school is a safe haven from the craziness that is their homes.
