    US Mens National Soccer Team!!!

Lets go!!!! Great job by our USA squad reaching the final 16 in the World Cup. We match up against the Netherlands on Saturday. Sadly I have my 2 favorite teams going against each other.....LETS GO USA!!!! So impressed about how we have played thus far...minus Wales, lol. SOOOO wish I was in Aruba to watch the match. That said I will be at our local pub to enjoy the match! #USPRIDE

Just got an email from one of our local beat writers for the local paper. For those that don't know I am the varsity coach in the town within I live....so I get these emails often for situations like this when writers are working on a story and looking for quotes...That said, he won't like my email much. Lets just say I am 100% USA and the thought of commenting about another country and how they might feel is not really possible outside of saying they are at least as excited as we are! Lets GOOOO USA. And yes, I support all who root for their squad, just like me!

We watched the US vs England game at the Pega Pega at Manchebo. They had hung banners with all the flags of the countries. We’re big soccer fans and watch a lot of European soccer. Hubby turned me on to soccer when we were dating and he had season tickets to the Cosmos. Gosh, I’m dating myself!

We were in Aruba one year for World Cup. I really liked watching on the big screen set up at Moomba when the Netherlands were playing. The crowd was nuts!

If my dad were alive, he would have loved watching it. Growing up in prewar Europe, that is what they played. Once he was here, he playing in NY when he lived there and then locally until around the time I was born. He was good, but he said one of my uncles was really good. My dad had some scars on his face from the metal spikes. I remember seeing pictures of him with the various teams, but sadly I think my brother probably has them sitting in a box somewhere.

I need to find a bar close to me that will be open at 10am....probably not going to be easy to find. Drinking at home at 10am seems wrong...but if I am at a bar well then 10am sounds normal!

Bingo's is set up also. Reflexions has tv going for all the matches. If you want to shop on the island...Saturday will be the day...everyone will be watching and no crowds! I went to a small high school....we played soccer and not USA football....my three brothers were all good players! Cheering for USA of course....but I respect all fans no matter the team!
