So....I’m pretty pleased with myself. To get to Grimaldi’s we need to walk through both the Venetian and Palazzo casinos and I didn’t stop once even after having 2 glasses of wine! We were pleased to get a nice quiet spot at the bar and even more pleased when a young couple came in with 2 screaming little ones and the bartender told them children were not allowed at the bar but they were welcome in the restaurant. I have never understood people bringing young children into the casino. By law they are not allowed to stop but we often see people testing the rule. The casinos are smoky and there are some sights that young eyes don’t need to see!

Grimaldi’s is all about the pizza. A nice New York style thin crust with sliced meatballs. The same bartenders have been there for years and I’m always surprised that they remember us. Tom is more conservative than me when betting on the slots so he has been holding his own but no big wins. I’ve had big wins but tend to give it back. The thing is we have fun and never spend more than what we budgeted for gambling. Today was unusual asjust about ever machine I played gave me a bonus. Once I get a bonus with a decent payout, it’s one more spin and move on.

Up bright and early this am at 5:30. We were at our usual breakfast spot by 6:00. There were only a few people in the restaurant and I opted for the buffet. Tom ordered off the menu and I was just about done eating and his food had not arrived. So... he was a little aggravated. Up to the desk he goes and cancels the order; one minute later the server shows up and we told her we cancelled it. To their credit when we went to pay for my breakfast they comped it and apologized.

Tom went back to the room and my gambling started at 6:30 am. It’s such a strange time as you notice all those people who haven’t stopped partying since last night and have now gotten sloppy. I looked for a machine away from as many people as possible. I started losing fast and furious so I switched machines and to my surprise hit a hand pay!!! I was thrilled.

Tom spent the morning playing poker and I alternated between walking around the Grand Canal Shops and playing the slots. There is a new shop that was just opened by Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame so out of curiosity I went in and poked around. I saw a really unique silver bracelet and figured what the heck I might as well have something to show for handpay instead of throwing all the money back in the machines!

Lunch was back to Delmonicos and we both had the filet mignon; delicious! Then since I was too full for dessert I had a couple of espresso martinis at the slot machines

Dinner tonight will probably be appetizers at the bar at Buddy V’s and just maybe pick up a chocolate dipped cheesecake from Carlos Bake shop for later

We kind of deviated from the original plan. Ended up back at Grande Luxe. Sat at the bar and ordered buffalo chicken spring rolls and Thai shrimp and chicken spring rolls that came with lettuce and carrots to wrap. Torn between walking to Carlos for the chocolate dipped cheesecake or Bouchon Bakeries chocolate bouchons I opted for the bouchons. They are really just super rich brownies shaped like small cylinders. Tomorrow is our last day so I will just have to make my way to Carlos for the cheesecake. They are worth a trip to Vegas.

Tom was tallying his losses for the week and basically he had zero losses!!!!

Hand pay for you and zero losses for Tom, can't beat that! Anyone who is still up at 6:30 from the previous night must be a total 100% mess! Enjoy the day and good luck.
