    Weather

I just wanted to see how everyone is doing with this severe weather going on in parts of our country.

Here, the wind was so very strong with gust between 35 and 40mph. There are lots of branches and a few trees down. A friend has damage to their house and others have lost electricity. I found a piece of siding/trim when out went out to get the mail. I walked around the house, and thankfully it isn't ours. I looked around our neighbors, but didn't see anything. I left it there in case some was looking, but in reality, it could be from many different homes that were built around the same time our house was built. Right now the winds have died down, but the current storm is pounding away and it almost feels like nighttime. Tornado watch until 6 pm.

I know other areas of the country are getting hit much worse, especially in the south. I hope everyone is okay.

Lots of people without power. So far we still have it. The house across the street lost the top of its tree. The house next to it has a large branch down; resting on a wire that is bound to come down. Hoping it’s a cable or phone wire. That wire connects on the main cable in front of our driveway.

Normally, on even the windiest of days we don’t really hear it in the house but we sure do today!! Hope everyone is staying safe!!

Pretty windy over here as well. Lots of small branches down and one larger one out back but thankfully still have our power. Stay safe all.

Mostly done here now, rain is over but the winds are still around 20 mph, sun is out and shining bright, temp around 75 degrees. Winds were around 40 mph this morning with gusts up to 58. Lost two pieces of trim, will have to get my guy over to replace them. Trees and branches down around the neighborhood, luckily we have underground utilities. Just another day in Southeastern VA.

Wild day here in southwestern Connecticut. Lots of power outages in the area and roads blocked with downed trees. Rain and wind died down around 4:30 so drive home was fortunately uneventful. We apparently lost power at home for a few minutes but all good and calm now.

Rain abated here further south of Boston..... big winds.... my truck was buffeted a lot coming home on the highway. Thinking winds are 30-50 mph gusts.
Power should be OK... my town has their own utility company .... and we've probably had a total of 30 minutes w/o power in a bit over 3 years... I am now furiously knockin' wood!

We lost power for about 40 minutes or so earlier...thankfully it came back on prior to darkness. I may have lost my mind with no power being stuck inside, lol.
