Thanks, I checked this out, may be a project when I return to work to do crafting. Today I turned a wine glass into a Glitter Pink Wine Glass!

I have about 2/3 of the first and second floors cleaned. The only furniture I have not moved is the huge entertainment center, but there is enough space to get the vacuum hose behind it. I didn't move our bed, but by taking off the mattress and box spring, I could access behind it fully. I probably won't move the other entertainment center or china cabinet. I also did not move the stove because of the gas connection. We tried to move the fridge, but we could not get it out. I just have the living room, laundry room, dining room, office, and kids rooms to do. The basement is a summer project. I am also working on labeling over 5000 pictures I had scanned a few years ago. Once those are done and ordered, I will start to scan pictures from the time the kids were born, but will label as I scan. I will be busy for a very, very long time.

We rolled up the oriental rugs and the braided rug to be sent out to be cleaned.........I am kind of liking rug free in the living room dining room and lanai.

if this lockdown continues, we may work on shredding some stuff that should have never moved to Florida with us.
Paul is the saver of papers, not me.

another project is getting back on track with our eating habits and weight loss.

although it is already very hot and muggy here in Fla, I am going to begin riding again.
Nothing fancy, no barrel racing or trail riding....just riding in the ring and the dirt roads near the property.
I signed a barn lease on a horse (pretty close to my home 3 mi away) beginning May 1.
There is no $ involved, just time. Per the lease, I can ride and have full access to the horse 7 mornings a week,
    It includes all tack.
She is a large half percheron/belgian mare.
I guess the word is huge as she is a draft (think blonde clydesdale including feathering on the feet)
The time involved is .........I have to muck her stall 3 x weekly and take on responsibility for her feet and teeth (farrier and floater)

I stopped riding there because 4 years ago there was a rattlesnake that I saw on the property and I was GONE/DONE.
I am going to give it another try.
If the kids that take lessons there and the other older women who have horses there are not kept away because of the snake, I can certainly give it a try.

I am sure that there are other things to do in the house.........but it will wait.

It sounds like fun Andrea! I loved riding horses when I was a kid at camp and we've done some tours as adults.

Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

    Good morning everyone,

Like Gaby said in an earlier post to this thread, our life hasn't really changed much. It's almost as though retirement has been good practice for what we are doing now.

Since I keep the same schedule as I did when I was working, I'm up every morning before 6:00, have breakfast, check for any e-mails and have a look at the forum here. I usually do a Spanish-language crossword puzzle or two, read our local newspaper and watch the national tv newscasts, both Canadian and American networks.

A word on the Spanish thing. I have always been interested in languages and have found Spanish both useful and relatively easy. But there is more to it. More than even a return of pancreatic cancer, at 67 I am deathly afraid of the onset of dementia. I had read somewhere (years after I actually started learning Spanish) that being able to communicate in another language can delay the start of that hideous disease which I have watched rob my mum of her lively personality.

Yesterday, and like others have mentioned here, Donna and I had our medical appointments done by telephone. We normally see him quarterly, and since neither of us have had much in the way of health changes recently, the doctor said he would renew our prescriptions and see us in another three months. He did suggest that we can put blood work off for another five or six weeks.

Yes, of course I have a nap every afternoon. Donna watches the murder and mayhem on her British police shows on Acorn tv, while I have a snooze.

We've done a bit more cleaning, but not much. No, you can't come over and see!

Take care everyone. Have a great day.

Funny you mention the Spanish lessons Glenn. My mom is in assisted care with Alzheimer's. Pam and I have been trying to learn Dutch to help stay sharp and so we can converse with some of our friends in Aruba in their language. We boeken vooruitgang!
