What is for your Thanksgiving dinner?

    What is your menu?

    OINK

    Here is our menu.
(a friend and i are sharing the duties)
We will be a group of only 8 or 10

20+ lb bird and gravy (her)
sausage, apple and walnut stuffing (me)
    Sweet potato casserole (her)
mashed sour cream and garlic potatoes (me)
pearl onions with cream sauce (her)
    sautee mushrooms (her)
    butternut squash (me)
    crescent rolls (me and pillsbury)
    cranberry/orange/apple/relish (me)
    cider (her)
pies (GFS Chef Pierre Hi rise apple)

then into the pool to try to swim 3000 yds to make room for cold turkey sandwiches

in all honesty, i would much rather be in aruba eating pasta and salad at terazza italiana!!

similar menu (also with a ham and lasagna) and 6 more people for Christmas dinner.

Dh and I are having our traditional "Calm Before the Storm" Thanksgiving Dinner today. We do this every year the weekend before Thanksgiving because next weekend will be a crazy whirlwind of visiting family all over the place. We were in Aruba last Thanksgiving so this year we have lots of stops. I love it and wouldn't have it any other way, but because it is so crazy we started doing our own small dinner together so we could really enjoy it without having to run off to the next house.
    Today's menu:
    Small 9lb butterball
    Creamy mashed potatoes
Southern style green beans, not the casserole
    Corn casserole
Some cheesy spinach thing that I'm trying out to possibly take to aunt's house on Thursday.
Stove top stuffing because we love it
Extra cheesy baked mac & cheese
    Candied sweet potatoes
Canned cranberry sause in memory of my grandma
Some kind of rolls, probably store bought.
This upside down apple pecan pie thing that I saw on facebook that looks very difficult and I hope doesn't fall apart.
We will eat this all for the next couple days until it's gone.
Thursday we start with flag football at my sister in laws house, from there we do lunch with 30 of my mom's family at our local Moose Lodge at their traditional buffet so no one has to cook or clean and we can all sit together at the same table. Then we drive about at hour to my aunts house with about 20 people for Redskins football, dinner, and a birthday party. From there we may go another hour away to my dad's after party, but that depends how tired we are. Then Saturday we drive 3 hours away to Jon's mom's house for the best food ever and spend the day with his family. I love it! By Sunday we are exhausted.

We'll be spending Thanksgiving at Tom's niece's house with her family, my sister-in-law and her husband. Fortunately, we all live close by. Everyone chips in with the cooking. I'm in charge of the shrimp cocktail and a giant cheesecake. Looking forward to a relaxing holiday.

You are all making me hungry. We will have:
    Turkey and ham
mashed potatoes with cream cheese and a little cheddar cheese
butternut squash, green bean casserole, gravy and home made stuffing
cranberry sauce, jello salad, corn pudding, home made banana bread, rolls and pumpkin pie and I always have to have corn. We are all blessed we will be with our family and enjoy these happy times. Also blessed to be able to have ample food on our table. i do give to the food bank each month as i never want a child to go hungry. Everyone enjoy this special holiday.

Our food was pretty amazing this afternoon, if I do say so myself. Here's the garlic, herb roasted turkey with really good green beans in the background.
The other pic is a piece of upside down apple pecan pie.
