American Airlines flight changes

American just changed our flight so we have a 40 minute connection in Miami going to Aruba, with no other options. I think we could make 40 minutes but boy it will be stressful and there is no room for error. UGH - this trip better be worth it!! I'm considering cancelling these flights to get the refund if I can find something else. But with all of the flight changes, I don't want to book something else and have that cancelled too.

did you check SWA from BWI?

did you check SWA from BWI?

There is a SWA from BWI - I have to talk to Jon tomorrow - and I have to call the airline. I'm not sure if the change is significant enough to get a full refund vs a credit. The SWA route/schedule is actually better but the airport is less convenient from our house. I've seen some chatter of the SWA schedules changing and cancellations too, so I don't know what to do. We also booked 2 one way trips so flying out of BWI causes a transportation issue because we will be arriving back to a different airport - not a big deal, just one more thing to think about.

We may be able to leave the evening before and overnight in Miami as another option.
Does anyone know if you have an overnight connection do you pick up your checked bags and recheck them?

I'm hoping maybe our Mia to Aua gets pushed back a little - something I never though I would say.

We had to change our flights with AA 2x's and it was worth it.
Arriving a day early and leave a day later;
Both flights were not full, and we both had a whole roll to ourselves.
They only provide "drinks" to business class. (even thought on the announcement no alcohol drinks/meals would be provided)

Tracey are you connecting in Miami on an AA flight coming from another airport? If so I think AA will hold the flight for you and 40 minutes is doable especially now when airports are not busy.

Thanks Tracey, I just checked our flights and they have changed too (AA). I don't mind them changing flights, but they changed my seats too. Guess I'll have to call later. 40 minutes should be plenty of time in Miami.
