How about staying an extra night and you can fly back at $258. The savings will pay for a room a many spots

For my Mom's flight they deducted $200 cancellation fee but for my flight which I cancelled the day before the flight and I explained why, they did not charge me the cancellation fee and gave me full credit. Delta which I also love gave me a credit less $200 cancellation fee and it expires 1 year from when I first booked the flight so not too much option there...
Ace, we are big JetBlue fans also and their schedule from JFK always works for us. They are awesome to deal with. Last year, after having our annual trip to Aruba booked, we found out that my daughter was pregnant. Due to zika virus concerns, we had to cancel her and her husband's tickets. JetBlue refunded us the entire cost of their tickets (we had used points) with NO CANCELLATION fee. The full value of the points went back into our JetBlue points account. Not many airlines would be that accommodating.

We have made cancellations with SWA and American ( point reservations ) and all went back into our account.
The SWA change was recently and the American change about 3 yrs ago. American May have changed their policy of late.
Glad that JB was accommodating for you and yours.
