Traveling Departing Aruba's Queen Beatrix Airport

    Please
On the weekends, arrive to the airport at the least 3 hours prior to departure.
If you can, give yourself even more time.

The lines are long, the shade is lacking if one is outside the airport in a line and tempers are hot.

Some of the airport/airline/security/immigration/US Customs may not be fully staffed yet.
This creates long lines, especially on the weekends.

Those of you with Global Entry............the lines are still long and unavoidable until you get to US Customs where you will breeze thru.

    Copied to Airlines category too.

    Great advise.

On my recent trip the plane got held up for 45 minutes waiting for passengers stuck at Customs. The airlines usually do not wait and the pilot himself said that if it was up to him, he would have taxi off but they made him wait so they lucked out.

If you have Global Entry, sometimes someone walks up and down asking if anyone has Global Entry and you by pass the long line to US Custom. I've seen it done before I had Global Entry but they did not come out often just 2 or 3 times in a 30 minute wait.

it changes often as tourists increase.
I would still allow 3 hours on the weekdays.
in Mid May, the lines coming IN to Aruba were tough on a Thursday and it took over an hour from deplaning to getting thru Aruba Customs.

When we left on March 31, some airlines were recommending 4 hours hours-I think it was Jet Blue and United.

We have always allowed 3 hours. Sometimes we needed it, sometimes not. Better to be safe than sorry. it was four hours for us too, as Robin said, when we left at the end of March.
