We fly often (for business and leisure travel) and always make a point of arriving at the airport about 2 hours prior to our flights - both domestic and international. It's just good practice due to events that can be out of your control at any time. We have TSA pre-check and use Delta's Sky Priority check-in but still follow our own 2 hour rule.

yup, I saw the same news show.
houston had to close a terminal today and tomorrow due to tsa staffing issues (calling out sick)
showed huge monstrous lines at Atlanta's airport.

for those traveling to aruba, yes allow 3 hours......maybe more for check in, security etc.
