    Jewelry Stores In Aruba

    What are your thoughts?

Are you a jewelry shopper when visiting Aruba?

What kind of things have your purchased?

Years ago we purchased some Lladro porcelain figurines at Little Switzerland and have bought earrings and a ring or 2.

Aruba is imo not a jewelry shopping destination.
Aruba just happens to have some nice stores with lovely items.

Folks need to do their homework first to familiarize themselves about pricing.

I’ve made a few purchases at Gandlemans. Each time it has been a David Yurman necklace. Prices were better than in the US. They ran $300 to $400 cheaper. I’ve had a lot of compliments on them and have been happy with my purchases. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

I/we have been going to Aruba for over 20 years and have made a good number of purchases from a number of stores. The key is you have to know the product and do your research. After making the purchases and returning to the US I have a very reliable jeweler who examines the pieces and gives me his professional valuations. We have never regretted any purchase. Also as I go twice per year the stores that I purchase at have guaranteed me they will accept the return of the item if I am unhappy as long as I notify them within a month of purchase via email. Also Pegmeister is correct, when you purchase a national brand in Aruba they are limited to the discount they can provide otherwise they will lose the franchise to sell the product. This applies to: Rolex, David Yurman, Mikimoto, etc..... Fortunately we have not made impulse buys and do our homework and if we find no significant savings we buy local.

We have been buying things from Gold Palace for years. KP is great to work with and willing to make custom pieces. I think they changed their name to Diamonds. Accross the street from Hacienda next to TH Palm.

My wife purchased a few things from one of the jewelry stores downtown back around 2003 2004 as I recall. She is such a serious haggler I left the store in embarrassment. She came out smiling and saying if she did not get the items for what she was prepared to pay, so be it.

For our 20th I purchased my wife a ring with a blue sapphire stone in the center with a diamond on each side- and a Chopard watch for myself at the Ritz's jewelry shop. The price on the sapphire was probably more than we would have paid at home for a similar ring and the watch was less expensive in Aruba by a considerable about. The added benefit of surprising my wife was worth the extra cost on the ring IMO.

It's kind of become a "thing" for me to buy myself a nice piece of jewelry each time I go to Aruba. Good thing I haven't been that many times yet! I'm very fond of Gandelmans. First year a pair of really small diamond half hoops left on my ears. Next year I bought a small diamond pendant to match. The hoops were lonely. Last year I took those with me to have them cleaned. I swear, that's all I was going to do!! But those slightly bigger diamond hoops were on sale. They called to me. What was a girl to do?!!
