I read that, too, Tracey. One person said 30 people on their flight didn't make it. The thing I tell my husband is one time you can get through in 30 minutes but there will always be that time you end up taking forever. My theory is if I have to go home, get to the airport, go through whatever regardless of the length of time. Remember most airlines start boarding 35 minutes prior to departure so if your flight is at 1:00, you start boarding at about 12:30. I always minus that from my departure time when figuring out when to be there. And if you are there early there is always "one Happy Bar" which is really a bunch of happy people having fun and the bartenders are fun, too.

Once I am packed and its departure date, I just want to get home.

we are leaving for the airport at 10 for a 2:30 flight

we were downtown earlier .....the roads are unbelievable especially in front of the Tamarijn and all the way past certified mall
So you got there 4 hours before your flight? Is this the norm for this time of year or just for weekday travel? I know when i was there in December it took me an hour from the duty free to welcome to USA door.

I've been known to get to the airport 4 hrs. early, not worth the risk or stress of getting there late. I'd rather hang out, people watch and relax.

Same here. A lot of times we just head for the airport at check out time and it's usually in the 3-4 hour range, unless we take that early AA flight.

Ace.........over the past few days (mon and tues of this week) the airport has had issues with US CUSTOMS being understaffed? exceptionally slow? or both?
there were some folks that missed their flights as a result.
The SWA ticketing agent told me yesterday that no one on SWA over the last few days have missed flights due to the situation with USA Customs

May they just staff less on week days because there are less flights, so it still takes as much time as the weekends.
