    Driver's Licence requirement

    Good evening everyone,

Just making sure I have my facts straight.

Is my provincial (or state if you are from the US) driver's licence still sufficient for car rental in Aruba or do I need an International Driver's Licence?
My reservation is with Hertz. I have always just shown my licence from home.

Just thought I'd ask because my travel agent thought she noticed a reference to the IDL in the Hertz agreement. Maybe (hopefully) it doesn't apply to us.

    Your license is enough.

Thanks Robin. I thought that was the case

I presume the IDL is for renters from places other than Canada, the USA and The Netherlands.

lots of places are minimum 23 or 25.

a friend of ours had to be the renter (age 70) as the husband did not meet the age qualifications (he is 83).
she, the wife signed on as the renter/driver. the husband was the unhappy passenger
I do not know the exact age for cut off, but with the company they chose, 83 was too old.
