From Surf Club I always go the back way to Superfood, it's way easier and stress free. That roundabout is the worst I've ever seen, it's so tall you can't see the other cars already in the circle.

We would like to request everyone who reaches Super Food Plaza by foot to please make use of the crosswalk. A new sidewalk and crosswalk have been placed in order to increase safety for pedestrians. The highway can be very busy, so please be careful and only cross the road in the designated area

I cut and pasted the post. Sorry that the picture came out that big. I didn't know it would put it in that large.

Comments made by people were not positive. Most saying what has been said on here about it not being safe, needing warning lights, an overpass, etc.

robin I will try to edit it downward in size.

the crosswalk although nice is it causes folks to be "sitting ducks" . when vehicles come out of that rotary/roundabout, then SURPRISE there are pedestrians.
    imo.....NO GOOD

A flyover walk way should have been built.......just my opinion.

I was thinking the same thing, Andrea. Yes, the pedestrians cross there but doesn’t negate the cars zooming around and then all of a sudden boom, people crossing. If they feel that is a busy pedestrian crossing, then they should have left it a light

Thanks Andrea for editing it. I couldn't figure out how to do it.

What worries me is the sidewalk give the "appearance" that it a safe place to cross and more unsuspecting people will try to cross maybe with kids. We know it is not safe, but a new visitor, someone who is unfamiliar with the island and roundabouts will have no clue what to look out for unless there are warning signs with flashing lights.

I do know that the LaCabana and Amsterdam Manor have posted notices warning their guest about it being a hazardous crossing.
IF AM and LaCabana and the Eagle Beach Resort worked together, they could provide a shuttle tram. If they put their thinking caps on and opened their wallets it could be solved SAFELY.
