Roundabout Construction Palm Beach Starts March 7th

Tonight the traffic congestion through Palm Beach was horrific

I saw somewhere that there used to a roundabout there.

Well there use to be a steak house and a driving range there. I was coming home from a snorkel trip, many, many years ago. A small car turned there and a fast motorcycle came fast and T boned him and the cycle guy flew in the air and landed on the road. I turned around but the guy died. They then closed that turn lane. Thats been a long time ago.

That steakhouse RIO was excellent.
The remains of it still stands with much of the orange roofing tiles missing ...I bet they are swiped.
The maitre'd was one of the original guys in the singing waitress/waiter place Twinkletones.

I do not look forward to the craziness of the detours, but do look forward to the completion of that night mare intersection rotary!

Its a mess , I was up there and the traffic Saturday the 12th was bad and Wednesday the 16th... My taxi guy drove through some muddy ally and through some back parking lots to avoid stuff.

Dow posted pictures of the work on the roundabout in the high rise area. They are almost done the first half. It looks nice. If you can't access it, let me know and I'll post the pictures here. I can't tell from what they said if they are going to open that half once it is done or not.

They might open it, they left the other side open while doing this side. I wonder if there will be a crosswalk or equivalent? It would make walking to Bavaria from Palm Beach much safer.

There are sidewalks, I guess we will have to wait to see if they make crosswalks.
