If you are even considering wanting a jeep, I say get a jeep. I always say let's just get a car - one year it was about the same price for a week with the car vs. 2-3 days in a jeep, so finally my husband gave in and we got a car one trip for a week. The car sat in the parking lot more than it didn't. We wished we had the jeep. That being said, depending on where you are staying and what you plan on doing, do you really need a car/jeep the entire trip? Maybe get a jeep for the first few days, the a car for the last few? The car is what you get when you just want transportation. The jeep is a fun splurge.
