One additional death added to the list.
The person had been hospitalized for another reason but was diagnosed with covid at the hospital.
There are four residents currently hospitalized.

That is 12.7% of those tested! A very high percentage!

Closer to 16.4% if you take out the 174 airport tests.

Not good. Even though most are residents, those residents may have been working at restaurants, hotels or driving cabs a week or 2 ago. So it doesn’t matter residents or tourists COVID 19 is spreading in Aruba with increases every day since August 3rd. Very sad!

Are they reporting whether the newer positive cases of tourists are from being tested at the airport or is it now more community spread from the island?

They are reporting both in their daily numbers but the residents are driving the new cases as you would expect if ALL people who enter are tested....You are clear when you enter (lots of false neg and positives so not really sure) and you probably wont test while there unless you fall really ill during your stay. For this reason I think the numbers are even higher than reported as "most" visitors even if they came down with covid would probably be well on their way back home based on the incubation period.

The person, a 75 year old man, was admitted for a serious unrelated issue but was diagnosed as positive for covid at the hospital.
Although his death involved something other than covid he was nevertheless classified as a covid death as per international epidemiology standards.

It seems that three other covid positive patients remain hospitalized.

it is insane that from August 3rd to August 13th they went from 12 active cases to 776 active cases - in10 days!
