    Amstel brites vs lights...

Ok, whats the difference in these 2...Lights we can get here in RI, brites only in aruba? We've been to many stores here looking for the brites, and they think they need to correct us when we ask for them...whats the differences, anyone know?

I tried to look up some links for you, but I don't speak or read Dutch.

    Amstel is owned by Heineken.

Amstel Bright is only sold in the ABC islands and now I believe may also be sold in the Netherlands.

At one time it was brewed in Curacao from desalinized water, but I am pretty sure it is now brewed in Holland.

It is not sold in the U.S. Imo, having tried Amstel Light and Amstel, it is not in the same family and tastes like vomit.

Think of Amstel Bright as a light or pale ale such as Corona. My beer of choice in the states is Corona.

Dh and I just decided that since our 4 precious bottles made it home safely last trip, next time we will bring home MORE! Already planning a Bully stop at Lings before hitting the Tamarijn so we have Happy Hour Brights each day!

Agree no comparison. Brights are far better than Light or regular Amstel. Lisa is correct. It is not currently sold in the US. Don't know why.

Some "Bright" information: Incl the fact that it used to be brewed in Curacao, but now in Netherlands and shipped.
