    lots of folks are trying to optimistic of the fast ferry
    and the same are pretty pessimistic re: the refinery

    maybe it is time just to bury the dinosaur of the refinery and say thanks for the memories?

    They need to dismantle the refinery and turn that area into a park or other public use area-marina, fast ferry terminal, etc. It is an eyesore.

    There have been a number of engineering and eco studies done of the area. The inground pollution is so bad that hundreds of millions are required to perform simple remediation of the land. One of the reasons Valero walked with the sweetheart deal with the government whereby they were not required to clean up the site. A bad deal for Aruba all around.
