    Anybody been to this beach?

    Good morning forum friends,

Below is a link to this morning's title offering in Caribbean Journal. The theme is nine beaches where social-distancing is easy to achieve and Aruba's Boca Keto made it onto the list.

Donna and I have never been to that particular beach and we're not even sure if we could get there in our rental car or if we would need some kind of off-roading vehicle.

So the question to you is, as the title suggests; has anybody been to this socially-distance friendly beach?

I have visited this beach a few times. It is located near the Natural Pool. Here's a cute short video which describes it: https://www.facebook.com/ArubaFans/v...56416143602044.

If you are on an ATV or Jeep Tour and making the final descent down the hill towards the natural pool (conchi), you will see this beach if you look off to the left. It is difficult to reach because there is no road or pathway down to the beach so the off road descent and return is a challenge. A UTV can make it, but I've also seen UTV's get stuck - and there truly is no one in that area to help you, if your vehicle gets stuck. We hire a guide to take us whenever we want to visit that beach. Madagascar Aruba Adventures will make the trip (run by "Pappa Alfred") and he has the right vehicle for the job, a 4 x4 Mercedes Benz all terrain Unimog.
Boca Keto is not a swimming beach because the waves are very rough there (and current is strong also) but it is an excellent place for jumping in the waves and body surfing (as long as one is mindful of the strong current). I want to emphasize that the surf is extremely strong at this beach but as long as you are with others for safety, it is fun to stand in the water and have the waves literally knock you down and push you back to the shoreline. The beach is also very beautiful (nice sand) and it's fun to sit on it and watch the waves come crashing in - truly mesmerizing to watch.

Here is a link to a Madagascar commercial on You Tube - you can see the Mercedes Unimog well in this short video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DvsVlGoyz5U&feature=youtu.be
