Avoid Downtown FRIDAY SEPT 13 between 1 and 4 pm

An Aruban friend sent me a note telling me to pass this on...........

There will be a protest today in the afternoon near the Parliament Bldg and Queen Wilhemena Park...........
So if you are heading to the airport to pick up someone OR heading downtown or thru downtown, you should go the back way.

    Copied also to Aruba General

sometimes the protests just "pop up"

I will try to post a back way screenshot map to the airport from the CITGO station at the road split near the cruise port.

sorry, this is the best I can do.
    it is route 1B

if you go to google maps and enter Aruba.........zoom in to 1 B

coming from the airport to the hi rise, turn RIGHT at the 2nd roundabout.........eventually McDonalds will be on the right at Sero Blanco.
Go a bit around the roundabout and stay on 1B
Eventually you will have to take a left towards the Harbour.
That is still 1 B, follow it til you get to the big Citgo Intersection.
Turn right and then follow for a few mile to the Lo rise and then the Hi rise.

    Clear as mud right?

The "New" Watty Vos will be usable and open soon so thess directions of 1B will become obsolete.
All traffic from hotel to hotel area will be directed to the Watty Vos and will empty out near Lings in the Eagle section.

It was a protest of teachers because the government is not investing in any way in materials and such.
