Where Tracey discovered Manchitos and got my wife onto Manchitos too! Great spot with a great view.... not as good a view as some... but a great place to celebrate getting to Aruba.

And they have a sunken bar so you sit in low comfortable chairs, my all time favorite!

Before posting, Pega Pega was actually my first choice. We land at 1:55pm and are renting a private house with our own private Jacuzzi and pool. It's not on the beach but we have a car and are use to traveling, as I live in the country and drive 30 miles round-trip just to get groceries and my girlfriend use to drive cross-country for FedEx. Believe me, driving around Aruba will seem like a quick jaunt to what we typically do in our 'normal' lives. I pity the rental car company that gives us "unlimited" miles.

First night is usually an early night for a lot of us after a long day of travel....at least for us older folk :-)

Actual first drink is usually The Paddock on the way in from the airport. First Official drink is when I'm HOME, at Pata Pata bar at LaCabana

Neither are actually beach bars though

Usually my first coldie is a Balshi in Bully's van on way to Ren. Once we get there we used to just hit the pool bar but last year started going to West Deck also.

Am I the only one who has to be fully unpacked before completely relaxing and feeling like vacation is official? I love having a Bright while I unpack but until everything is hung up, stored in drawers, etc. and I have changed clothes from "travel wear" to beach attire I cannot fully relax with that first REAL vacation drink at the beach bar.

I also like to hit the grocery store on the way to the hotel, too, and just get it all out of the way so that when I wake up the next morning we can have breakfast and mimosas on the balcony and not worry about having anything "to do" except relax.

That being Amy you have made up my mind for this year. I am not packing any suitcases or clothes. I am boarding the plane with my bathsuit, flip flops, t-shirt, passport and wallet..... LOL
