As I write this, we should be on the plane in route to our favorite Island. But we are not. Earlier this week my elderly father was involved in a terrible auto accident. He will have surgery soon as they can get him totally off his blood thinner. It is a sad day that we are not giddy and excited about being in Aruba in a few hours, but so very thankful my fathers life was spared and he is still with us. There will be another time once he recovers, and we will try to make that one better than the one we are missing. Lesson Learned: buy the trip insurance. Even if you are like me and convinced you wont need it. Buy it. We are so fortunate we will not lose our room fee. We booked a Airbnb, same place we stayed in May, and the stipulation is no refunds. I reached out to the owners since we became good friends on our previous trip, and they are allowing us us reschedule to a later time. They didn't have to do that, but I am very grateful they are. Our total loss will be minimal to what it could have been.
So, to all the good people that are currently on the Island of Paradise, enjoy and we will join you another time!!
