Cash and DAB ??

Hi everybody,

we are coming to aruba next week and wished i knew the best way to have cash. I was told that coming from France we could not use the ATM.

Aruba accepts the US dollar everywhere. Is it possible for you to exchange Euros for dollars before you leave? Taste of Belgium used to take Euros but they are closed. I don't know if any other place accepts them.

I don't have a way to trade dollars before. We stop for a few hours at Amsterdam airport, maybe there? Otherwise why can't I withdraw dollars from ATMs?

I don't know about ATMs as I've never used one in Aruba, I always carry cash and credit cards. I would think you could exchange money in Amsterdam.

We use ATM occasionally in AUA.
The Aruba ATMs give you an option of US dollars or Aruba Florins.

We use the ATMs in Aruba. We like using CIBC but not exclusively.

We always take cash (US$) to Aruba. We seldom use our credit cards. My credit card has been compromised twice while in Aruba, both times at restaurants, I believe. Never had a problem with cash.

Thank you all for your answers and your help. i hope i can either change euros in amsterdam or use my credit card to withdraw money from an ATM.

You should check with your credit card company before you leave about using it in Aruba for cash withdrawals. There should be plenty of places at Schiphol to exchange currency, but I doubt you'll get the best rate.

Make sure you notify your bank before travel so you don't get locked out of your cards. Is it too late to request USD through your bank at home?
