We do our own thing while vacationing and by the sounds of many posts many would not enjoy "our" vacation. We do our own thing...when we want, and how we want.....We go to reduce our stress levels and just relax and catch up on some quality family time. After 31 visits we don't do ANYTHING that most Aruba travelers do. We have made so many good friends we go to catch up and relax and that is about it. We love the weather, people, family time and good food...anything else is all good in our eyes. I think I landed on at least 5 or 6 of the I hate lists....lol but its our trip and I am good with it.

A nap is so nice. Sometimes they are totally involuntary-in the middle of reading, or watching TV, or on the computer or looking at the beautiful water.

For us, Aruba is home and we've explored most of it. When we travel to new places, it is about the experience-seeing what we can see, learning what we can learn and if it is a beach area, relaxing. If we return to places we've been before, it is then about doing our favorite things.

I so agree. Aruba is like home to us. Its 31 trips and counting and we just love to settle into our own routine at this point. Our first several trips involved seeing all the beaches....main attractions and activities but our last 2 dozen plus are all about regenerating our batteries and over the last 6 years seeing our friends! Ever since the Ritz opened we have become CLOSE friends with many as you know...some so close I was in their wedding and will be a future God-Parent. Aruba is just incredible for everything it offers and is always a home away from home for us.

Aruba fits us well. I am a beach/pool person, my husband is not. He takes me to my favorite beach every day and he goes to the store (he likes to cook and grocery shop), has a few favorite watering holes, comes by and checks on me, brings me extra water or adult beverages. He drives around and feels relaxed because we know Aruba so well and I chill on the beach and read. Come afternoon, he picks me up, we go back to the room, I clean up and we go out for happy hour. Sometimes we eat out. Sometimes he cooks. Rinse and repeat.

I live in the Caribbean and Aruba is the only place that I have been to where I felt relaxed, at ease, and comfortable.

I have heard that so many times from so many other people that there must be some truth to it.

Gotta hit that lottery number and get the hell out of the cold here....
