We were Starbucks fans back in Toronto (we didn't make it at home - that was Nespresso) - I know it's not everybody's cup of tea (see what I did there?!?) but really liked the jolt. Replicating that with home brew has been challenging here - the supermarkets carry a lot of European-packaged beans which were tepid at best. So we were thrilled to find the Aruba Coffee Roasting Company. We've had three types: French Roast, Espresso and Breakfast Blend. BIG difference. We're going to stick with the French Roast and Espresso as the BB was a little weaker.

‘Try Cubita brand coffee. They sell it at Lings. It’s from Cuba and is smooth and strong. At home we drink Starbucks Morning Joe. This is similar.

Unfortunately, downtown as a recreational area died a long time ago. To be exact, back when they decided to build those two malls in Palm Beach. In addition to terrible policy decisions, like closing the main street for car traffic. The trolley was just a total waste of money in itself and was criticized since the beginning. Same as those blue elephants all over. The idea was that the trolley would take cruise passengers through downtown. But by the time it was completed, most businesses already closed down and either reopened somewhere else or went into other businesses.

That whole area was hurting badly even before Covid 19.

The term "White Elephant" always come to my mind when thinking about the trolley.
But it was a great prop for the now famous HGTV show, featuring act1966 and spouse!!!

And that's about the time we stopped going downtown.... really nothing there for us that isn't available near to Manchebo....or the high rise area when we make our 2 or 3 trips there each year.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the best of men!

We walked around there earlier this year. There sure isn't much. CocoPlum was a good place to grab a bite to eat.

There are some homeless people hanging in that area, too. There was a guy in the fountain taking his clothes off. We walked away as the police walked in his direction.
