    Favorite Candies

OK....everyone has a fav. What is your fav and where do you find it in Aruba? Is it one of those unique and sometimes strange Dutch treats or is it something local?

l guess I'm boring because I like Nips and can only get them at Lings. The Dutch Queen Anne chocolates at Superfood are great as well.

so confess! What's your little secret treat here in Aruba?

    and Toblerone (is toblerone dutch?)

also too, my son and daughter in law swear the Cadbury chocolate in Aruba is way better than the Cadbury in the USA.

Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

My favourite treat in Aruba is Droste Pastel chocolate, sold in tube-like packaging and in a variety of flavours. My favourite flavour is orange. While scoffing these things down, I think the orange flavour gets me thinking that I am eating healthy.

    Happy New Year everybody.

Toblerone is Swiss and I think the Cadbury in Aruba is from Europe, which is a very different Cadbury then we get the in the US - at least the Cadbury from Ireland & from Germany is not anything like what we can get here in the US.

The big HUGE KitKat bars are a big hit with my kids, as are stroopwafels. Maybe not quite candy, but a beloved sweet anyway

Another one for Verkade. My preference is the white chocolate or the hazelnut. I always grab a bunch at the airport on the way home. Yum!!!!!

I agree with the Cadbury is much better in Aruba, but that does not mean that I would refuse one in the US. LOL. Dick.
