I just logged into to my account and saw the appointment calendar. I'll make two appointments this evening. Also, for now, it looks like they only offer it a few days a week, and only in the morning. There are already some days that are filled or have reduced availability.

How long did it take to get your conditional approve from the time you applied?

I think ours were like 11 or 12 days. I’ve heard some people have waited quite a while. I knew we were squeaky clean so I didn’t think there would be any red flags. We got our conditional approvals the middle of Sept. and our trip was Nov. 13th. We couldn’t get any interview times for months at Newark Liberty and I checked a few times a day. Then appts. opened up for Oct. 18th at 8:15pm. We had our cards within 2 weeks. I think it’s great that Aruba will have a place that’s not at the airport. Having GE saved us at least 45min. to an hour when we came home on a Saturday.

Thanks - I'm not sure it matters to us for Aruba but we have to connect for most international flights and if it's easy to get an appointment in Aruba seems like it might make the most sense to do the interview there since last I checked appointments near us not available. We still haven't applied.

Would Global entry get you past the outside line and cut through other lines? If not its probably not worth getting for my wife.
Global entry was a no brainer for us, especially if you are considering signing up for a TSA Precheck program and you fly out of the country one or twice each year. The cost difference today is $22.00 for the five years of the program enrollment ($100 versus $78).

In Aruba, Global entry does provide a valued benefit as you skip the long US Customs wait line (especially on weekends) and have your own special lane for expedited screening. It does not allow you to the front of the line for Aruba check in line and security, does not allow you to the front of the line for US check in line and security, but does allow you to skip the long US customs line which always seems to be far more time consuming than the security screening lines.

Last February, we traveled to Aruba with two other couples who did not have Global Entry.....our departing flight was on a Saturday afternoon with long lines. Much to my surprise, the US customs line was backed up far into the airport duty free shop area. We walked past this long line, got our luggage and entered the Global entry line. We experienced one person in front us and cleared US customs in less than 5 mins.....it took our non-Global entry friends an additional 90 minutes to be processed through US customs & security before showing up at the departure gate. We had a nice lunch and beverage while waiting for our friends to show up.

If you do travel to Aruba and have your Global entry application conditionally approved, it's a no brainer to have have your GE interview done at the airport or now at this offsite location. It's the quickest way to have your GE interview process completed. A few years ago, my wife and I had our interviews done at the same time in the Aruban airport US customs facility. We were able to head straight to the GE line, showed proof of our approved application, cleared US customs and walked into their waiting room. 30 minutes later, we were done and off to the US security screening area.

To 55greenchevy, after you had GE interview at airport, what to they give you to show you are good to go thru GE? Do you get an email or text? A document? We made apt for new location in Palm Beach location. Inquiring minds just need to know.
    Thanks.sean and Susan
