    If it wasn't for Aruba...

So I have been thinking about how Aruba has changed me. If it wasn't for Aruba, I may have quit my job this week. That's a long story, but I have to pay for our trip so you get it. If it wasn't for Aruba, I wouldn't have all of you "imaginary" friends. If it wasn't for Aruba, I wouldn't know how much I like flying to a destination rather than cruising. If it wasn't for Aruba, my marriage would be missing that totally relaxed and reconnection time we get during our Aruba trip that is like no other time or place for us.

So how about you...if it wasn't for Aruba,__________?

    1. I would not have made as great an effort to learn more about the ABC islands, while Aruba will always be my number one destination among the three; I am open to visiting Bonaire one of these years for a few days before flying onto Aruba.
    2. I would not have made some interesting friends on Aruba. One I met through the forum in November of 2012, before linking up with her via BBM, Facebook, and What's App, before meeting her in person in January of 2014. The other I met through Facebook after coming across her vlog about her life on Aruba, finally met her in person in September 2014.
    3. Would not have become a part of the Aruba Forum community/family.

We would not have met so many friends from Europe that we get to visit every year on our trips to England, France, Holland, etc. Always excited to see them on our travels (and our Aruban and Dutch friends in Aruba, too.) My International Christmas card list keeps growing....

if it wasn't for Aruba I'd never know what I was missing and Mrs. VB and I may never have realized what it was like to actually relax. We've also made some wonderful friends over the years, and Tracey I'd like to think I'm a real friend, not imaginary

If I did not have Aruba to look forward to I might never relax, just knowing I have a vacation planned relaxes me. If it was not for Aruba I would be "missing" so many people I consider a good friend. And last but not least, I would not have met/talked to any of you if it were not for Aruba. God bless Aruba!

Imaginary is joke that I have with another forum member. Our spouses give us a hard time about forum friends, but I really enjoy getting to know you guys and about your adventures. Walt, it's only a matter of time until we meet in person I'm sure.

..... I'd simply have to find something else to look forward to all year long.... and I can't imagine something that would give me the satisfaction and joy that Aruba does....

    ... I'd have a lot more savings...
... I wouldn't have so many imaginary friends..
... I wouldn't be stopped in the airport as a confirmed celebrity...
... I wouldn't be letting fame go to my head...
... I wouldn't be looked at as "crazy" by The Spouse for writing the above two...
... I would not have mastered the perfect margarita...
... I'd be very sad and not know why...

The math on "not" going to Aruba is astonishing. To think what I have spent on 21 trips is gross but I would not trade my memories and friends for all the money I have spent. I know you feel the same, but we both would have nicer bank accounts for sure. Your expense is much greater than mine but you own, nice job!!!!

How much time do you get to spend on the island now?
