    Jimmy's/Divi Sunset Beach Bar Closed?

I have friends visiting Aruba this week. They went to go to Jimmy's (not sure of the official name of the bar on the beach by the Tamarijn across from Divi Village) and it's closed. Does anyone here know any details? I hope they are just renovating...

    TIA for any info!

OK another friend just posted this on FB.

They just closed Jimmy’s beach bar AKA #Ocean ViewBar at #DiviVillageyesterday. Didn’t even bother telling Jimmy until he showed up for work. Apparently the plan is to knock it down then put gym upstairs and crappy bar downstairs enclosed. We love the view & breeze & Jimmy. If u feel the same please contact home office. Maybe if enough owners complain they will keep bar upstairs with view.

I can't believe they would put the gym upstairs and the bar downstairs in an enclosed area with no view. I wonder what they'll say, if anything, when I email them.

The problem is that they were having water drainage problems from upstairs at Jimmy's. It was leaking through to the downstairs windsurf shop and those guys were having to deals with black mold constantly. That is the main reason for the remodel. They tried to correct the problem several times with no luck so they now realize they have to do a complete remodel.
While the view from upstairs at Jimmy's is incredible there have been a few folks that have enjoyed it too much and tripped going back downstairs. Probably a much better idea to have bar on ground level to avoid future drainage and "falling" problems.
