NY Times Sports writer at a local soccer game.

Last week the Arubian soccer league got a unexpected visit from NY Times Sports writer Sam Borden.

Sam and his family have been coming to Aruba for 11 years. And this was his first visit to a local soccer game.

He wrote his experience on the NY Times sports blog.

Thanks, Andrea. You, and Lisa, are always sources of information that the Forum Members might like...and I read his column, the site you were ice enough to post.

My friends and I have attended many soccer games over the years and enjoy cheering teams on and the sportsmanship frequently shown.

    Thanks, Again.

    Really nice post!

Once I read, can't remember where, that going to sports matches can be as interesting as going to museums or other usual tourist spots. I've been to baseball games in Toronto, Minneapolis and Denver, hockey games in Atlanta, and unfortunately I arrived in Ireland right after the 2010 Six Nations rugby tournament had ended. But never managed to see a soccer match abroad.

    Cheers

    Marcio
