Packing - Rolling? Stacking? Cubes? Compression?

Over the years, we have evolved from stacking to compressing to rolling and we are now using packing cubes and I find that this works best for us.
    What works best for you?

The first packing cubes that we got were a gift from HAL cruise line and that got us hooked.
These are the cubes that we use. https://www.amazon.com/Veken-Packing...90&sr=8-4&th=1

I find rolling works best when we travel especially if it only a few nights and we are using carryon sized duffle like bags. When we go to Aruba, since we are bring stuff for the condo, the few items of clothing I bring to add to what I am keeping there, I use to wrap breakable items.

I've had very good luck putting my shirts (linen too!) on hangers, folding in the arms and putting them into one plastic sleeve from the dry cleaner. I tri-fold the package I created and 'cram' everything else around them. When I unpack.... just hang the shirts and they are ready to wear... never needed ironing or touch up!

Well, I go for 5 weeks and we bring carry on. Even when I traveled Europe I did only carry on. I evolved in my packing. First, always, always, always use travel space bags (get them at Harmon). I have now tried rolling the clothes but still putting in the bags and then compressing the air out of them. We use two large and one medium for the both of us. I wear my maxi skirt since that takes up the most room. I pack for me 10 tops, leggings, another maxi skirt, khaki shorts & denim shorts, pajamas, undies, 5 bathing suits, beach cover up. My husband has 4 pairs of shorts, 5 shirts, jammies, undies, 5 swim trunks. I get all that in 2 large and one medium compression zip up bag. I also bring 4 pairs of shoes in addition to the ones I am wearing, hubby 2 pairs.

I guess we tend to pack light so no need to squeeze anything in. I find folding stuff and placing it in an alternating pattern works best.

I really like packing cubes. I find amazing how much you can fit in each one. I'm a bit of an organizational freak so the neatness appeals to me.

I like the compression bags. They're great for getting a lot of clothes in a smaller bag.

    me too.
I ordered a 2nd set so I can pack my crocheting and some of my card making stuff when I travel.
I try to be organized and the cubes help...........Pjs, undies, sox in one cube; tanks/tees in another; shorts/capris in another; it really helps being organized and when tsa rifles thru my bag (and they always do) the mess they make is inconsequential.

Rolling! My husband actually does most of it. He's copied something he found on Youtube and literally rolls everything up so tight they look like fabric burritos. His method definitely works better for stretchy stuff, but I think it does save quite a bit of space. We travel carry on only, with rolling duffle bags. I may have to try a test run to see if rolling, in packing cubes, in the duffels would help save a bit more space.

I like the packing cubes but for a different reason. We stay a few night in a hotel usually before we change to a timeshare so I found that using the packing cubes for those 1st few days makes unpacking and being tempted to undo the whole suitcase a nonissue now. I dont feel like they necessarily save space but the organization is great. As for rolling, I just dont think I am good at it because i never seem to get more to fit that way.
